A type of strong permanent magnet made from samarium, cobalt, and other minor elements.
Product Overview
Samarium cobalt magnets are strong permanent magnets made from samarium, cobalt, and other minor elements. They are renowned for their high magnetic strength and excellent temperature stability. While samarium cobalt magnets are generally weaker than neodymium magnets at room temperature, they can still operate reliably at extreme temperatures when neodymium magnets cease to function. SmCo magnets exhibit strong corrosion and oxidation resistance, often eliminating the need for coatings. Due to their sintered manufacturing process, samarium cobalt magnets are very brittle and may have internal cracks.
Applications of Sintered Samarium Cobalt Permanent Magnet Materials
SmCo permanent magnets are an exceptional class of magnetic materials, possessing both high magnetic performance and strong corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, low temperature coefficient, and a high Curie temperature. These attributes enable their utilization in higher ambient temperature conditions. They find extensive applications in motors, instrumentation, sensors, detectors, radar, and other high-tech fields
